Jeannette M.(Bihn) Bruns, 67, of Glenwood, MD. passed away Monday, February 27, 2006. Jeannette was born on 14 November, 1938 in Toledo, Ohio. She graduated from Central Catholic High School in Toledo in 1956. She married Edward Bruns of Millbury, Ohio, on July the 4th, 1961 at Sacred Heart in Toledo.
After moving to Maryland in the late sixties, she went to work for a health insurance company as a Claims Processor. In 1992, she took advantage of an offer to retire early at age 53...just in time to spent more time with her arriving grandchildren.
In addition to her grandchildren she enjoyed crafts, flower gardening,
working around the yard. She loved antiques and collected mostly furniture at auctions. The last few years of her life were devoted to watching TV, mainly Home and Gardens and The Food Network, she loved having her husband retrieve all the latest recipes from the Internet for her.
Jeannette is survived by her husband, Edward (Bud) and their three children: Lynn (Robert) King of Chesapeake Beach, MD, Lee (Kim) Bruns of Tyrone, GA and Lisa (William) Nunley of Laurel, MD and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcella & Bernard Bihn and
two sisters Helen (Thomas) Karl and Juanita "Nina" (Randy) Kozina. Her five surviving brothers are Thomas (Pat), Frank (Sandy), Dennis (Susan), and Michael (Janelle)Bihn all of Oregon, Bernard (Sandy) Bihn of Walbridge. The remaining 7 sisters are Sally (Merle) Koenig, and Lois (Ed) Stribrny of Perrysburg; Dolores Oravec, of Oregon; Sr. Jeanette Bihn, SND of Toledo; Eileen (Larry) Lehman of Silverdale, WA. Geraldine (Robert) Hart of Rochester Hills, MI; and Phyllis (Frank) Zielinski of Sylvania.
Visitation for friends and family will be Thursday from 5 to 9 pm and Friday from 2 to 9 pm in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30 am and proceed to St. Jerome Church in Walbridge for the Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. The family suggest memorial contributions in Jeanette's memory be made to The American Diabetes Foundation.
