Jennilee Mohler, 79, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer with her loving husband by her side. She was born on January 4, 1947 in Gallipolis, Ohio to Marcus and Helen (Cook) Williams. Jennilee grew up in Dexter Ohio, graduated from Ruthland High School Class of 1964. She attended Northwest State Community College, Americas Institute of Banking and the University of Toledo. She focused her career in Human Resources retiring from the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services in 2007. Jennilee previously worked for the Ohio Department of Youth Services as an HR administrator at Maumee Juvenile Correction Center and Riverview Juvenile Correction Center. She also worked at the Meigs Co. Sheriff's office as an administrative assistant to Sheriff Ralph Trussell.
After retirement Jennilee volunteered in many advocacy efforts, serving as a board member for Disability Rights of Ohio, serving as President and on the Executive Committee. She also served on the Board of NAMI in Athens and NAMI of Wood County. Jennilee was a member and chair of the Ohio Community Recovery & Support Planning Council (OMHAS Advisory Council). She was a member of Protection and Advocacy for Individuals with Mental Illness Council, Parent Advocacy Connection, parent peer Supporter and Regional Coordinator for 14 years. Jennilee volunteered and camp Host for 6 years in the Ohio Department of Natural Resources-Harrison Lake State Park.
She is survived by her spouse, David Mohler; children, Mark Perry, Ryan (Wendy) Barnhart, Dominic Barnhart, Mary (Alan) Queen, Tina Jones, Joshua (Satomi) Rule; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Bonehill; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Beth Anne (Jim) Myers; grandson, Trenton Jones; siblings, Dorothy Williams, Ronald Williams, Marcus Williams Jr., Georgene Carroll and James WIlliams.
Friends and family may visit Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel440 S. Coy Rd., Oregon, Ohio, 43616 on Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 1:00 pm until the time of funeral services at 5:00 p.m. Interment will be held in Alexander Township Cemetery.
