Obituary

Jerry L. Bryan Sr., 79, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, on February 26, 1947, to Lewis E. and Violet C. (Albright) Bryan. Jerry was a Waite High School graduate and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force during Vietnam.

On November 13, 1971, he married the love of his life, Kathryn (Staffeld). After his service, Jerry worked at L.O.F. and then Toledo Edison. Following his time at Edison, Jerry owned and operated his own trucking business.

He had many passions in life, including traveling, gardening, keeping his yard in pristine condition, woodworking in the shop he built, and cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes and Detroit Lions. Jerry was someone who never met a stranger and was always able to spark up a conversation wherever he went. He took great pride in the home he built, but what he cherished most was his family - especially his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy and held a special place in his heart.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathryn; his children, Lesley (Christopher) Bradley, Jerry (Tracy) Bryan Jr., and Jonathan (Jennifer) Bryan; his grandchildren, Jackson, Bennett, and Kennedy; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Clyde Bryan, Ercell (Donald) Porter, and Marion Bryan. In accordance with Jerry's wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
