Jerry Glenn Day, 72, of Millbury Ohio, lost his battle with Leukemia on Thursday, January 4, 2024 with his family by his side at Bay Park Hospital, Oregon, Ohio. Jerry was born on September 26, 1951 to Paul and Hazel (Shrewsbury) Day.
Jerry and his wife, Louise were married on June 7, 1980 where they enjoyed 43 years together. He was employed at Instant Whip and Kaufman Engineering. He served in the U.S. Navy (Seabees) and he served in Vietnam, Desert Storm and Desert Shield. Jerry loved all sports. He always found time to go golfing with his brothers. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, with Dale Earnhardt, Jr. (Car #88) as his favorite driver. He enjoyed attending the NASCAR races in Las Vegas. His favorite baseball team was the Detroit Tigers and watched all the games with his brothers. Jerry was a die-hard OSU fan (Go Bucks). He was a member of the Rossford Eagles, Walbridge VFW Post and a Life-Time member of Northwood VFW Post.
Jerry is survived by his wife Louise; children, Kristin Bitter and Bobbie Jo Nelson; grandchildren, Owen Nelson, Wyatt Nelson, and Emma Bitter; brother, Danny Day (Deborah, Tanya, and Robin Urban); 32 nieces and nephews; and 44 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Joseph (Frankie) Day, Geneva Long, Paul (Jeep) Day, Jr., James Day, Shirley Shank, Robert Day, David (Dude) Day, Sarah Grimes, Linda Lairson, and Penny Day.
Per Jerry's wishes, there will be no visitation or services. A celebration of life for Jerry will be held at a later date.
