Jerry Lewandowski, 81, of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, July 12, 2015. Jerry was born on May 31, 1934 in Toledo, Ohio to Frank and Rose (Szmania) Lewandowski. He married the love of his life, Marilyn (Goodeman) on August 20, 1954, who preceded him in death on March 31, 2015. He worked for Dana (Spicer) as a machine repairman for 30 years before retiring. Jerry was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed working on cars, being outdoors, playing games and "putzing" around in his garage. Jerry was known for taking meticulous care of his yard but most important to him was his faith and family. He will be deeply missed.
Jerry is survived by his children, Debbie (Larry) Ivan, Jim (Karen) Lewandowski and Terri Lewandowski; grandchildren, Bruce (Mari) Ivan, Brad Ivan (Jess), Jennifer (Jeff) Hawkins, Laura (Jonathan) Hallauer; great-grandchildren, Zach, Jonathan Jr., Jackson, Haylee and Hayden. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Marilyn; parents; brother, Emil Lewandowski; sister and brother-in-law, Henrietta (Edmund) Adamski; and great-grandson, Jacob Ivan.
Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon, Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The Rosary will be recited at 4:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 16, at 10:00 am in Epiphany of the Lord Parish – Sacred Heart Church, 509 Oswald Street, Toledo, Ohio 43605, where the family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 am. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association of Northwest Ohio, 2500 North Reynolds Road, Toledo, Ohio 43615 or Epiphany of the Lord Parish.
