Jerry N. Street, 81, passed away on August 6, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was born to Winfrey and Dimple Street Nashville, Tennesse on April 19, 1933. He attended schools in Nashville and Waite High School. He married Mary Gimenez 63 years ago in St. Mark Lutheran Church. During his high school years, Jerry enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served in Korea and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was employed at LOF, the US Post Office, and then for the National Association of Letter Carriers. Jerry served as President of the NALC Branch 100 for 17 years. He also served on the Ohio State Board of the NALC for 23 years, 16 of which he was President. Jerry was a member of the Old Newsboys, Marine Corps League, NARFE, 1st Marine Division Association, VFW Honor Guard, Dog Company Association, BOATUS, Tarta Board, Port Council, AFL-CIO, Board of MRDD, Lucas County Democratic Screening Committee, Waite High School Alumni Association, and member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. Jerry coached 2 years for the Whittier School Jets Baseball Team. He shared his love of boating with family and friends on his boat the Mary Carmen. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their many sports endeavors.
Jerry is survived by wife Mary, and their 4 children, Sharon (Michael) Buehler, David (Teresa), Darlene (Steve) Barron and Susan Street. He is also survived by grandchildren, Melissa (Dusty) Hieronimus, Kristen (Michael) Houck, David Coutcher, Joy Coutcher, and Tiffany Coutcher; brothers, Dean (Elaine) Street, and Ronald (Loretta) Street and 11 great grandchildren.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Monday, August 11, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 611 Woodville Rd., Toledo. Interment will be private. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Jerry'™s name are asked to consider St. Mark Lutheran Church.

Services: Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 611 Woodville Rd., Toledo.
