Jesse A. Escareno of Toledo, OH was called home on February 11, 2026 at the age of 87 while surrounded by his loved ones.
Jesse was born September 25, 1938 to Panfilo and Isabel (Avina) Escareno in Breckenridge, MI.
On November 2, 1958 he married the love of his life Damiana (Mejia). A self-made man, Jesse worked with the Boilermakers Local 85 for 32 years before his retirement. While Jesse was a proud Boilermaker, his biggest joy in life was his family. He and Damiana had seven sons, fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
A selfless man, Jesse always put his family first. When he wasn't focusing on his family, he spent his downtime keeping on eye on the neighborhood, helping others and finding projects to work on. He instilled love and hard-work in his children and grandchildren, leading by example. His life and his legacy will live on through them.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Damiana; sons, Jesus (Diane), Adrian (Paula), Gabriel, Daniel (Laurie), Michael, David (Kelly Jo), Joseph (Mariza); grandchildren, Aaron (Lisa), Amanda (Miguel), Amber (Scott), Adrianna (Manuel), Christopher (Alexa), Victoria (Kevin), Madison , Angelica, Alexander, Isabella (Jacob), Dominick, Daniel, Silvia, Anthony, Aubrey; great-grandchildren, Graciela, Aaron Michael, Ariella, Parker, Francisco, Everett, Scotlynn, Jonah, Antonio, Akeno, Oliver, Avina, Leo, Mario, Dominic; sisters, Eva (Escareno) Vasquez, Rita (Escareno) Murry, as well as many nieces, nephews and loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Elias "Leo", Ruben, Carlos "Charlie", Jose "Joe", Rodolfo "Rudy", Concha "Connie"(Escareno) Hanes, Natalina "Nelly" (Escareno) Ortiz, Soledad "Shirley" (Escareno) Ornelas, Elia "Lela" (Escareno) Belmarez, Susana "Suzie" (Escareno) Esquivel, Rosa "Rose" (Escareno) Norconk, and many other loving family members.
The family will greet friends at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, on Monday, February 16, 2026 from 2:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on, Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
