Jessus "Jessie" Lopez, 36, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on April 25, 2022 at his residence. He was born on February 8, 1986 in Toledo, Ohio to Jessus Gonzales and Mary Lopez. Jessie most recently worked for the City of Ottawa Hills. He was a Toledo rapper, locally known as "J Diggz". He had a love for music and his talent came from his grandpa, Antonio "The King". Jessie also was a great cook. He acquired his cooking skills from his grandma, Maria. Jessie loved his entire family. He was a devoted father to his 3 children, spending all of his time with them. He traveled with his kids to places like Miami, Las Vegas and California. He was a wonderful brother to not only his family, but his many friends in the Toledo area. Jessie was also known as the "Lopez Family Protector" and would do anything for them. Jessus is survived by his children, Maria F. Lopez, Jessus Lopez and Caesar Lopez; godson, Jose; mother, Maria A. (Johnny) Lopez; father, Jessus (Shaun) Gonzales; siblings, Cruz (Helica), Dulce, Miguel, Johnathan, Tommy, Tony, Desiree, Elisha, Mikey, Alec, Alecia, Olivia, Santiago and Bugsy; and many nieces, nephews, "brothers" and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Antonio "The King" and Mary Lopez. Family & Friends may gather from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2022 at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, April 30 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church 728 S. St. Clair Street from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
