Joan M. LaCourse, 83, of Oregon, Ohio passed away February 6, 2009 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 16, 1925 to Paul and Evelyn (Sanders) Blum. Earlier in her life, Joan had been employed at Tillotson Carburetor on the assembly line for 10 years and then at Hickory Farms in Maumee as a packer for 7 years. She was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the VFW Post #9816 and of the Ladies POW Auxiliary at the Maumee Valley Chapter. Joan enjoyed flower gardening, camping, bowling and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her son, Robert (Patricia) and Howard (Brandi) LaCourse; daughters, Dorothy (Michael) Lillstrung and Ann (Keith) Hille; sisters, Virginia Dutcher, Marilyn (Joe) Daly, Janet (Eugene) Schacht and Rosemary Dixon; brothers, George Blum; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and many neices and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Howard; brothers, Paul R., Norman, Norbert, Donald and James Blum; several sisters and brothers-in-law. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Sunday from 12 noon-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, February 9, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with interment following in Lake Township Cemetery.
