Joann Elizabeth (Katona) Wolfe, age 67, of Curtice, Ohio, parted this earth on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, surrounded by her family at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, OH. Joann was born January 4, 1946, in Toledo, Ohio to the late James and Mary (Szegedi) Katona. Joann attended Central Catholic High School graduating in 1964. Joann started out her employment as a clerk/cashier at Reid'™s Variety Store in the Birmingham neighborhood of East Toledo. Joann also worked at Prudential Insurance Company, Ohio Bell Telephone Company, and ended her employment with Lucas County Job and Family Services in 1988. Joann married the love of her life, William (Bill) E. Wolfe, on October 21, 1967 at St. Michaels Byzantine Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on February 12, 2012. Amongst Joanns many hobbies, her favorite was gardening with her husband. Her memberships included the Cooley Canal Yacht Club and St. Michaels Byzantine Catholic Church serving on the women'™s guild. Joann cherished her family very much, especially her husband of 44 years. Joann and Bill took a well-deserved honeymoon after 20 years of marriage in 1987 to the Hawaiian Islands. They also visited St. Kitts Island for their 25th wedding anniversary in 1992. Joann and Bill were inseparable as they did many things together including yearly gambling trips in Michigan and abroad and weekly bingo adventures. Joann'™s other love of her life was her grandchildren. Joann would spend as much time with Chelsey, Abigail, Zachary, and Connor as they all loved their G-Ma.
Joann will be greatly missed by her children, Aaron (Cindy) Wolfe and Amy (Gary) Langenderfer; grandchildren, Chelsey, Abigail, Zachary, and Connor; sister Marsha Cramer and brother, Joseph Katona; sisters-in-law, Rosalie Katona and Kathleen Katona; brothers-in-law Jon Wolfe and Andy Rasi and many nieces and nephews. Joann was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Charles and Thelma Wolfe; brother, James Katona; sister Barbara Rasi; and sister-in-law, Tonya Wolfe.
The family will receive friends at Eggleston, Meinert and Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Services will be conducted immediately following at 3:00 p.m. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, the Allen-Clay Township Fire Department, or St. Michaels Byzantine Catholic Church.
