Obituary

Joanne passed away on December 6, 2023 at the age of 95. She was born on November 17, 1928 to Ewald and Lioba Seiler. She graduated from Central Catholic High School. Jo met Donald Clark after someone asked her if she wanted to be a pen pal to him as he was in the US Army Air Police Squad, stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. They were married on August 23, 1950, and together they raised 6 children.

Jo was employed at several retail locations in downtown Toledo. After her marriage to Donald Clark, she began employment with Petrie's in downtown Toledo and then moved to the Woodville Mall until retiring. Jo was always very involved in her children and grandchildren's sports and activities. She spent a lot of time going to hockey games, tournaments, football and soccer games, whatever they were involved in. She was loved by so many and was referred to as "Grandma Jo".

Jo loved reading, fishing, walking, bird watching, and seeing Bison and Deer at Pokagon State Park in Indiana, where she and Don would take their grandchildren on vacations. She also loved it when she took trips with her daughters to Pennsylvania to research family genealogy. Her most recent hobby was going to the Hollywood Casino and playing her favorite Tarzan & Buffalo slot machines.

Jo is survived by her children, Kathy Jennings, Dennis Clark, Scott (Jennifer) Clark, Eva Leary, Stephen Clark, and Douglas (Sherry) Clark; grandchildren, Michelle (Tim) Urrutia, Donald (Brittany) Clark, Devon (Wayne) Druckenmiller, Angelique (Tanner) Sheehan, Ryan (Keishawna) Clark, Nick Leary, Aaron (Brianna) Leary, Jackie (Eric) Baker; great-grandchildren, Sophia & Levi Druckenmiller, Max Clark, Zayden, Carter & Roman Clark, Ripley Sheehan, Gabe & Haidyn Leary, McKayla Leary, Donivan, Derrick & Daniel Baker; special niece, Kathleen Sheets; brother-in-law, Jim Sheets; and good friend, Bea Gradel.

Jo was reunited in Heaven with Don (the love of her life); her parents; sister, Lioba Sheets; son-in-law, Ron Leary; and daughters-in-law, Bonnie Dennison and Sherry Clark.

Much thanks to the Hospice Home Care Crew for taking such good care of Jo, especially Nurses Corey & Amy!

Jo will be cremated and there will be a Celebration of Life after the holidays, to be posted at a later time.
