Joanne P. Harrell, 80, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away after a long illness on Saturday, February 6, 2010 in the Lutheran Home at Toledo. She was born in Curtice, Ohio on April 5, 1929 to Jacob and Elizabeth (Ehrsam) Moritz. Joanne graduated from Clay High School, where she was a cheerleader and later married her High School sweetheart, James. Through the years, she was a homemaker and worked as a secretary, most recently with Oregon City Schools. She enjoyed travel, walking, golf and watching her kids participate in sports. Joanne was baptized, confirmed and married at First St. John Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, James R.; son, Jim M. (Sheri); daughter, Martha E. (David) Kuhn; grandchildren, Samantha (Kendall) Anderson, Zachary Harrell, Katie and Clay Kohn; sisters, Phyllis Coontz and Libby Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harold, Wilbur, Jacob and Elmer Moritz; sisters, Mildred Henningsen and Esther Mae Ladd.
Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Ave. on Friday, February 12, 2010 from 2-8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at First St. John Lutheran Church, 2471 Seaman Street. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery.
