Joanne M Traver, 89, of Northwood, Ohio passed away on June 30, 2017 at her home with her family at her side. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on July12,1927 to Claude and Aldaretta (Perrin) VanGunten. Joanne was a graduate of Clay High School. She worked as a bookkeeper at The Community Traction Company (TARTA), Chipmatic, and McMasters Engineering. She also worked for WGTE TV in the early years and was very active in their auctions. Joanne was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church where she was active with Church Council, Bible study, the Prayer Chain and the hunger fund. She also knitted baby blankets for the babies baptized at Calvary Lutheran Church. Joanne was a member of the Walbridge Public Library where she loved playing cards and Wii bowling with her many friends. Joanne is survived by her daughter, Sue (Jeff) Hineline; grandchildren Ronald Traver, Christina (Dave) Brock, James (Stephanie) Klein, Darla Traver; great grandchildren, Monica (Scott Eaker) TraverKenneth Traver, Morgen and Reese Brock, Bailie Klein and Ashlie Carpenter; great- great grandchildren Presley and Scott Eaker ; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of almost 50 years, Gerald; son Ronald Traver; sister, Willamae Phillips. Friends may visit at the Eggelston Meinert & Paverley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00pm Funeral services will take place Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1930 Bradner Road, Northwood where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Joanne's name are asked to consider Calvary Lutheran Church or Ohio Living Home Health Hospice.
