Joe P. Elmers, 64, of Millbury, OH, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2007, while working on his farm. He was born in Toledo, OH, on March 25, 1943, to John and Mary (Frank) Elmers. Joe was a life long member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He served his country proudly in the US Navy. Joe graduated from the University of Toledo and received his masters from CALTECH in electrical engineering. He was a professor at UT for the past 20 years. His true passion was farming and being outdoors. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Janet; daughters, Meredith (Chad) Delphous, Roxanne (Jason) LaFountain and Amanda (Daniel) Zunk; 5 grandchildren and 3 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James. Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Rd. on Saturday, August 18, 2007 from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m where services will begin in the funeral home followed by 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Of Lourdes. Interment will follow in Clay Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Joe's name may be given to the American Heart Association or the Ottawa County Soil and Water Conservation Foundation.
