John K. Akers, 67, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 19, 1956 to James and Patricia (Callihan) Akers. After graduating from Waite High School, he would work as an auto body repairman in the Toledo area for many years. John had a passion for fast motorcycles and that spilled over to his time he spent drag racing them. He enjoyed hot rods and classic cars, watching Marvel movies, MotoTrend and hanging out with his friend and neighbor, Chad Henninger. He was a selfless man, always willing and wanting to help others, whether it be a phone call or lending that helping hand. What John cherished most was his loving family who will miss him dearly.

John is survived by his son, Ray (Jo Beth) Pappas; grandchildren, Alexis (James) Spradling, Anna, Angela, Kevin, Shadiyah, Kollin, Anessa Pappas; 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 38 years, Cindy; and siblings, Patricia, Mike, Debbi, Jeff and Rick.

In accordance with John's wishes, there will be no services. Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
