John A. Fitzpatrick, 82, of Oregon, Ohio passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 11, 1933 to Alva and Marie (Smith) Fitzpatrick. He was employed by Libbey-Owens-Ford for 37 years before retiring in 1989. John was an avid fisherman. His favorite catch was walleye. He was a great mentor and loved helping those in need. Surviving are children, John (Judy) Fitzpatrick, Joel Fitzpatrick, Jeffrey Fitzpatrick and Patti (Edward) Nixon; grandchildren, Michael Phelps, Stephen Phelps, Jeffrey Fitzpatrick; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jack Fitzpatrick; brother, Ashley "Bunt" Fitzpatrick; and sisters, Dorothy "Tippi" Akers, Mary Vollmar and Phyllis "Jean" Davis. Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 South Coy Road on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. www.egglestonmeinert.com
