John W. Fowler, 72, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 8, 1953 to William and Iva (Morse) Fowler. John graduated from Waite High School class of 1972 and went on to work for the Calphalon Corporation serving as high as a Supervisor before retiring after 43 years as a forklift driver which he thoroughly enjoyed. He was an airplane fanatic, arm chair historian and WWII buff. He was proud of his restored 1966 Pontiac LeMans taking it to all of the area car shows. John also enjoyed camping, fishing, drag racing and cruising down the river with his family on their pontoon making life-long memories. He also loved listening to music, but what John cherished most was his loving family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Kristie; children, Kendra (Scott) Kowalka, John (Bekah Hansan) Fowler; grandchildren, Natalie (Josh Benarth) Kowalka, Juleon Overton, Lily Overton, Elizabeth Kowalka and Violet Kowalka; siblings, Kathleen Shoemaker, Mark (Vicky) Fowler, and Matthew (Debbie) Fowler. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Rawson Davis; sisters, Dawn Mattison, Cheryl Day; and brother-in-law Michael Shoemaker.
Visitation will remain private. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Macomber Lodge, 4701 Navarre, Ave., Oregon, Ohio, 43616 from 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. John would like to leave this message for all; "There is enough pain in this world. Please don't cause more, LOVE EACH OTHER!"
