John P. Gercak, 91 Toledo, Ohio passed away on July 31, 2024 at Orchard Villa in Oregon, Ohio. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 3, 1933 to Louis and Mary (Vacek) Gercak. He was a Korean War Veteran and a member of American Legion #2984. He was a 1951 Graduate of Waite High School. He was a member and usher at Good Shepherd and enjoyed bowling. Bowling was one of his passions. He once bowled a 300 game. He traveled to Las Vegas every year for tournaments. He made bowling history at Eastern Lanes, Bowling the first perfect game. He was also a pilot and a member of the Arrow Flying Club. John loved flying his Cessna Airplane, taking nieces and nephews and anyone else who wanted to fly with him. He would take his brother Paul and sister-in-law, Linda to Sandusky for lunch. He worked at LOF Rossford as an electrician until he retired

He is survived by his sister in law, Linda Gercak; Tom and Deanna Gercak; John Gercak; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul and Frank;; sister in law Louise; and niece Chris Gercak.

Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel on Monday, August 5, 2024 from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 300 Warner Street, Walbridge from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery.
