John A. Golba, 57, passed away January 25, 2011 with his loving wife, Doris by his side. He was born on April 16, 1953 to John and Betty Golba of Maumee. John had a passion for fishing, and watersports. The telling of wonderful stories was his specialty. He had the ability to find humor and joy in every situation. John was employed for 16 years at Mercy Hospital in the Security Department. He was also employed for 22 years at Johns Mansville. John proudly served in the Air National Guard. He was a kind and dependable spirit and will be sorely missed by many.
John is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dorrisann (Helle) Golba; parents, John and Betty Golba; sisters, Marilyn (Jim) Zare of Sylvania, Ohio, Julie (Randy) Shafer of Davenport, Iowa; brother, Mark (Chris) Golba of Sylvania, Ohio; son, Robert Smith of Cicero, Indiana; daughter, Debbie (Dave) Dunn of Graytown, Ohio; grandchildren, Matthew, Robert, Rachael and Megan.
Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Friday, January 28, 2011 from 2-8 p.m and where her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in John'™s memory are asked to consider the Joseph S. and Jeanette M.
