John W. Groll Sr., 80, of North Toledo, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2003 at the Toledo Hospital. John was born in Toledo on February 19, 1922 to Fred and Lola (Lyles) Groll. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. John retired as a manager from Valroy Radiator after 35 years of service. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Loretta R. (Kusian) Groll; son, John W. (Rita) Groll Jr.; daughter, Diane L. (James) Smith; grandchildren, John W. (Joan) Groll III, Greg S. (Jennifer) Groll, Denise Groll, Jennifer Groll, Lisa (Chris) Williamson, David Smith; 8 great grandchildrn; brother, Clayton; sisters, Loretta Bowman and Joyce Jacobs. Visitation will be held in the Eggleston-Meinert Funeral Home, Coy Chapel, on Friday from 2 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 am in Faith United Methodist Church where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
