John E. Hamilton, Sr., 68, of Curtice, OH passed away on September 2, 2003 in St. Luke's Hospital. He was born in Harrisburg, OH to Glen and Ermel (Lane) Hamilton on July 30, 1935. John served in the National Guard for 4 years and was employed as a job setter by the Chrysler Corp. Toledo Maching Plant in Perrysburg, OH. His many memberships included Lotus Lodge #625 F&AM, Scottish Rite, Zenobia Shrine, Rossford Eagles #2322, Loyal Order of the Moose, Port Clinton, Eastern Star Yondota Chapter #317, and the Northwood Veterans of Foreign Wars #2984. John enjoyed camping and vacationing in Florida.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Virginia, mother, Ermel, children, William, Sr. Luann (Mark) Cray, Glena Hamilton, Mary (Dennis) Carr, Lindee Poskarbiewicz, John Jr., Charles (Amy), brother, Glenn (Lori) Hamilton; 17 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and a niece and a nephew. John was preceded in death by his father and nephew, Glenn, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2003 from 5-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-9 p.m.with Lotus Lodge Services, 7:30 p.m. at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH where funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 5, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Williston Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in John's memory can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
