John S. Kajca, 81, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 29, 1928 to Nicholas and Mary (Borbaly) Kajca. John was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He had been employed at Sun Oil for over 37 years, retiring in 1988. John was a member of St. Ignatius Church, where he was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, Holy Name Society, a greeter and usher. He was also a member of the American Legion Dunberger Post. Surviving are his children, Sandra (Ken) Bloomfield, Bernadette (Jerry) VanDyne; grandchildren, Kenny (Heather) Bloomfield Jr. and Amber VanDyne; great- grandchildren, Audrey and Brian Vamos, and Jenna Bloomfield; sisters, Mary Pigott and Helen Slonager. John was preceded in death by his wife, Delores in 2007, parents; brothers, Nick Kajca and Frank Kajca; sisters, Victoria Kuhn and Margaret Varanay. Visitation will be Friday at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, from 2:00 - 900 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 4:30 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and proceed to St. Ignatius Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorial contributions in John's memory may be made in the form of Mass intentions to St. Ignatius Church.
