John C. Klug, 89, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Monday, February 29, 2016. John was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 16, 1926 to Arthur and Florence (Adams) Klug. He served in the United States Navy and the United States Air Force following graduation from Central Catholic High School. In April 1957, he married Mary Virginia Kreutzer. John was employed as a data technician with the United States Postal Service, retiring in 1989. He was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Toledo. John enjoyed listening to big band music, was a dedicated sports fan, and enjoyed road trips with his family around the Midwest and Canada to many religious shrines.
John is survived by his sons, John Klug, Gerard Klug, Carl Klug, Victor Klug, and Michael Klug; grandchildren Ian Klug, Christina Klug, and Liese Klug. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; daughter, Rose Marie Klug; and brother, Arthur Klug,
Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm, where the rosary will be recited at 2:30 pm. Funeral services will begin Monday, March 7, 2016 at 9:45 am with prayers in the funeral home and proceed to Epiphany of the Lord Parish – Sacred Heart Church, 509 Oswald Street, Toledo for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Helping Hands of St. Louis.
