It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of John A. Matuszewski, 82, of Genoa, Ohio, in the early morning of April 25, 2024. John was born to Alphonse and Stella Matuszewski on December 22, 1941, and was one of ten children.

A beloved husband, father and grandpa, John is survived by his wife, Linda of 43 years; their three children, Richard (April), Theresa and Sandra Hamrick; his seven grandchildren, Haley (Andrew) Reardon, Noel and Hayden Hamrick, Amber and Daniel Throckmorton and Nathaniel and Caleb McCready; brother, Victor (Connie) Matuszewski; and sisters Mary Higgins, Kathy Rohrs, Frannie Ruppel and Margie Majchrowski.

He had many roles in his life but being a grandpa was his proudest one. His grandchildren were the light of his life, always making him smile and laugh at their crazy shenanigans. Every summer he loved to go camping with his family, sitting by the fire listening to stories and visiting new places. One of his favorite things to do was fishing with his family.

The family will receive friends at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280), Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral services at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy in John's name may be directed in the form of donations to the Matuszewski Family.
