John H. Minton Jr., of Dothan, AL and formerly of Oregon, OH ascended to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 3rd 2013. He was born in Waynesboro, TN on September 6, 1933 to John and Lona (Pulley) Minton and together they raised 5 children. He loved spending time with his wife Victoria and his family. He also loved the outdoors; boating, fishing, archery, scuba diving, camping and shooting. John was a dedicated worker for many years as a Plant Manager for Rowe Industries and Vice President of Connectronics Corp. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. John was preceded in death by his wife Victoria; his parents John and Lona; his sons John Minton III and George Minton. Surviving are his loving children Betty (Tom) Green, Nancy (Les) Hayward, and John (Sara) Minton; grandchildren, Michael, Tommy, Joshua, Matthew, George, Vicky, Kevin, Andrew, Joshua, Gryphon and Alexandria; great grandchildren, Michael Jr., Tristan, Lilly, Isaac, Lane and Kaleb; brother, Roy; and sisters, Jackie Frankevic and Laverne Brewer. Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 South Coy Road from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday June 6. Prayers will be held at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Friday June 7 and a Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 729 White Street, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place immediately following at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
