John Ernest Nelson, 63, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on July 15, 2013 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. John was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 17, 1949 to Ernest and Patti (Long) Nelson. He worked for Aero Exterminators and Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA). Mr. Nelson graduated from Clay High School in 1968. He also attended the University of Toledo where he played football. John lived for sports being an avid Cleveland Indians and Ohio State fan. Surviving are his twin brother, Ernie; sisters, Loni (Will) Orlet and Patty (Gene) Naujock; nephews, Matthew (Dimity) Orlet, Kurt (Annie) Orlet, Ted (Simone) Orlet, Eric Klein, Aaron (Maru) Klein and Mark Klein. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 19, 2013 at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel 440 S. Coy Rd., from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m. Entombment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park Mausoleum in Sylvania, Ohio.
