John F. Schloegl 78, of Millbury, Ohio unexpectedly passed away on May 26, 2022. He was born September 23, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio to George and Grace (Trautwein) Schloegl. John graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1962. John spent the majority of his career as a machine operator at Dana. He was a lifetime, active member of the Bavarian Sports Club. His entire life, John was true to his German heritage and could be found drawing beer at the GAF, dancing as a Schuhplattler, playing Schafkopf with his buddies at the club, and growing Radi in his garden. He was happiest spending time with his family and bragging with pride and joy about his grandsons. As an avid hunter and fisherman, John's favorite places to be were in the woods tracking deer and fishing off the shores of Ft. Myers Beach.
Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Gail (Young) Schloegl; children, Marty (Amy) Schloegl and Jill Schloegl; and grandchildren, Drew and Owen Schloegl. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Schloegl; and infant son, Timothy.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 6:30 p.m. Private interment will take place at Toledo Memorial Park at a later date.
