John "Butch" Schmidlin, 61, of Curtice, Ohio passed away in his home, on Wednesday, June 18, 2008. Mr. Schmidlin was born in Toledo on October 30, 1946, to John and Maude (Luce) Schmidlin. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. John loved riding his Harley motorcycle and spending time on his boat at Anchor Point.
Surviving are his loving wife, Diana; sons, John and Jeff Schmidlin; brothers, Jim (Pat), Tim (Karen) and Mike Schmidlin; sisters, Judy Morgan, Becky (Barry) Teft, Cindy (Sid) Lark, Jennifer (Mark) Green; grandson, Andrew; granddaughter, Amber and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Schmidlin and brother, Robert Schmidlin.
Family and friends may visit on Friday from 2 to 9 p.m. at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, where funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in John's memory can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
