Johnnie L. Brown age 82 of Oregon, Ohio died Thursday, December 5, 2013 of Alzheimer'™s. She was born the youngest of five daughters and one brother to Anne and Walter Roy on July 1, 1931 in Inola, Oklahoma. She was married to the late Kenneth M. Brown on April 21th, 1950 and celebrated their 60th year wedding anniversary in 2010 before Ken'™s death in 2011. Johnnie & Ken put themselves through college, with three young children and she graduated from Toledo University, Magna Cum Laude. She served her community as 3rd grade school teacher at Navarre Elementary School for over 20 years. Johnnie was devote and faithful Christian who helped and touched the lives of many. She is survived by her children, Debbie and James Mount, Kenneth and Anne Brown, and Jill MacKay, and by her four grandchildren Samuel Mount, Bonnie Mount, Ashley MacKay and Taylor MacKay whom she loved dearly. Johnnie was a faithful member of Echo Meadows Church of Christ and had many cherished life long friendships there. Most will remember her good deeds as she was always helping others, her beautiful smile, her charming sense of humor and positive attitude. We will all miss her. Services will be held at Eggleston-Minert Funeral home at 440 South Coy Road, Oregon Ohio 43616. Viewings will be on Friday December 13th from 3:00 to 7:00pm. The funeral service will be held the following day Saturday December 14th at 11:00 at the funeral home, after which time she will be laid to rest in Toledo Memorial Cemetery next to her husband.
