Jon Charles Wolfe passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Hospice of NW Ohio surrounded by his family. Jon was born October 19,1942 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Charles and Thelma (Eriksen) Wolfe. Jon attended Clay High School graduating in 1960. Upon Graduation Jon served our country in the United States Marine Corp and Reserves for 6 years. Jon began employment with Sun Oil Refinery in Oregon, Ohio in 1966. Jon retired from Sun Oil Refinery in 1995. During his employment with Sun Oil, Jon started a side business doing vinyl siding on homes. Among Jon's many hobbies, his favorites were fishing on Lake Erie, boating, snowmobiling, water skiing, tinkering with his 1973 Corvette and coaching his children's sports teams. Jon was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and loved NASCAR and the Cleveland Browns. His memberships included Sun Oil Gun Club, Sun Oil bowling team, Cooley Canal Yacht Club and St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Jon was known for his quick wit and love of family. Jon is survived by his wife of 30 years Greta Wolfe. Jon cherished his family very much. Jon will be greatly missed by his children Erik (Colette) Wolfe, Shannon (Dave) Berta, Stepchildren Christy (Tim) Erard, Nick (Angie) Panos and Danny K Panos. Grandchildren Olivia, Kayley, Peyton, Colin (Kristen), Amanda (Daniel) and Timothy. Great Grandchildren Oliver, Quinn and Leland. Jon had special relationships with many friends and his nieces and nephews. Jon was preceded in death by his late wife Tonya "Smoki" Wolfe, brother Bill Wolfe and sister-in-law Joann Wolfe.The family will hold a celebration of Jon's life this summer for family and friends at Maumee Bay State Park where his ashes will be spread on his beloved Lake Erie.
