Jose V. Lopez, 77, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Jose was born in Texas on June 3, 1939 to Florencio and Mercedes (Villarreal) Lopez. He worked at the Toledo Overseas Terminal and was self-employed. His hobbies included: fishing and local garage sales. His true passion was spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jose is survived by his children, Joseph (Belma) Lopez, Paul (Christina) Lopez, Sonya (Duke) Hamilton and Aurelio (Susan) Lopez; 12 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Juanita Maldonado; along with many brothers, sisters, and loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Isabella; son, Florencio Lopez; along with many brothers and sisters. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. with a rosary service at 2 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 16, 2017 in Epiphany of the Lord Parish – Sacred Heart Church 509 Oswald Street, Toledo at 10:00 a.m. where the family will greet friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
