Jose Manuel Ramirez Solorio, 56, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away, peacefully, July 7, 2012 surrounded by his family and friends. A native of Mexico, he came to the United States in 1973, where he worked as a Tool & Die maker for over 30 years. A father of nine children, his family was his #1 priority. He loved hosting family dinners and cookouts, listening to music and having a good time. He was passionate for soccer. He was a former player on the Azteca Team as a part of the Toledo District Soccer League. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars, maintaining his vegetable garden, and growing roses. He was always willing to give his last dollar to anyone in need; always a giver, never a taker. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Genoveva Ramirez; life partner of 36 years, Angela Montez; children, Raquel, Roxanne, Sonia (DJ) Reid, Eduardo, Rodolfo, Jose Jr., Gustavo, Gretel, and Lena; grandchildren, Alejandra, Keshaun, Annalicia, Maricela, Alterion, Ariyana, Gabriel, Cayden, C'™Zell, Antonio, DJ Jr., Kendall, Juan 'œpapi'; siblings, Teresa (Sergio) Robert, Miguel Ramirez Jr., Guadalupe Ramirez Solorio, Jose Luis (Kimberly) Ramirez, and Antonio (Kimberly) Ramirez. He was preceded in death by his father, Miguel Ramirez Sr. Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday, July 11th from 2:00-8:00 pm where the rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be begin at 11:30 am Thursday, July 12th with prayers in the funeral home and proceed to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 728 S. St. Clair Street, Toledo, for Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Ft. Meigs Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Ramirez family.
