Obituary

Jose Guerrero Reyes, 86, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away January 3, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born in Garrison, TX on October 7, 1926 to Jose L. and Andrea G. Reyes. Jose was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed as a press operator for Chrysler Jeep and retired in 1980 after 35-1/2 years of employment. Jose was an avid runner for many years and a member of East Side Track Club, until a bout with cancer in the 90'™s which he survived, to continue his mission of serving and loving God'™s people. He was a Friend of Bill W. for over 47 years & well respected in this family of dear friends. Jose was predeceased by his parents; 6 sisters; 2 brothers; wife, Raquel B. Reyes; first wife & mother of his children, Margaret M. Salas. He is survived by siblings, Balbino (Bill) Reyes, Cecundino (KoKo) Reyes, Maria Luisa Reyes, Frank &Maria Reyes, & Freddie Florez; children, Rev. Antonio M. & Bea Reyes, Becky & John Tobias, Joseph & Maria A. Reyes; grandchildren, Teresa & Maurice Maltbia, Alex & Karina Tobias, Benjamin & Francesca Tobias, Leonard Reyes, Angela Marie Reyes, Ramona Gonzalez, Juan D. Infante Jr., Gloria & Steve Gautschy; 15 Great Grandchildren; 8 Great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, family & friends. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 2:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. with Rosary recitation at 7:00p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 728 S. St. Clair St. Toledo, at 11:00a.m. and where the family will greet friends after 10:00 a. m. Interment following in the Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Although we were separated from Dad by distance and by circumstances beyond our control, our Papa Joe was deeply loved and repeatedly encouraged to move to Texas to be near us & his grandchildren. Heartfelt gratitude to our cousin Tino Mendoza for his loving care of our dad. 'œI have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith' 2 Timothy 4:7 'œEasy Does It' Dad.
