Joseph A. Bodnar, 82, of East Toledo passed away July 28, 2004 in Arbors of Sylvania. He was born in Czechoslovakia on August 1, 1921 to Andrew and Rose (Tobak) Bodnar. Joe was a veteran of the US Army-Air Corp during World War II. He was employed by Dura Auto Systems as a machine repairman before his retirement. Joe was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and a past member of the VFW Post 4906.
Surviving are his children, Michael (Judy) and David (Paula) Bodnar; grandchildren, Brenda Monhollen, Michelle Burson, Joseph, Patrick and Christopher Bodnar, Ryan and Stacey Rybarczyk; great-grandchildren, Kyra, Emma, Ashley and Ryleigh. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rose Bodnar and Mary Lesinszki; brother, Steve Bodnar and nephew, Frank Lesinszki.
Family and friends may visit at the Kinsey Funeral Home, Birmingham Chapel, 2001 Consaul St., Toledo, OH on Friday from 2 to 9 p.m. with recitation of the Rosary at 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Saturday at 9:45 a.m. and proceed to St. Stephen Catholic Church for Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Joe's memory can be made to St. Stephen Church.
