Obituary

Losing his fight to a sudden illness, Joseph Thomas Foor, 80 (6/16/38-8/8/2018), died peacefully at Pikes Peak Hospice in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was a loving husband, strong father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1959. During his career he was a Lucas County Deputy Sheriff, Maintenance Foreman for TARTA for 18 years, worked for the Do-All Company and drove a truck for Commercial Motor Freight. As a Mason he served in many capacities and was a past Master of Barton Smith Lodge #613. He was awarded the KYCH, OPC, and earned the Distinguished Service Award from his chapter. He was a past State President for the High-12 Club, belonging to East Toledo Club #324. As a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church he served on Deacon and Session committees. He was a coach for the North Toledo Old Timers and announcer at football games. He was married to Isabelle Beauch (deceased) 31 yrs, Mary McGee (deceased) 7 yrs and is survived by his wife Katherine J Foor (20 yrs) and his children Joseph T. Foor Jr (Deanna), Beverly (Brady) Tye, Debie (David ) Smith, Howard (Becky) Foor, and Matthew (Heather) Miller. He was proud of his 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren & 2 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Kay Bowser (Texas) and his brother, William (Karen) Foor of Mansfield, Ohio and many brothers-in law, sisters-in law, nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him as a strong and opinionated man. We would like to say a special thank you to Charlie and Debbie Miller in Colorado for their hospitality and care. Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on August 22 from 2 pm until 8 pm, Masonic Service will start at 7 pm. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home on August 23 at 10 am, followed by internment at Toledo Memorial Park. Donations can be made to Eastminster Presbyterian Church or The Kidney Foundation of NW Ohio.
