Joseph Fox, 82, of Oregon, Ohio passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2008, in Orchard Villa Nursing Home. Joe was born in Toledo on April 9, 1925, and a graduate of Waite High School. He was a US Army veteran of World War II where he received the Purple Heart. Mr. Fox worked for over 35 years as a purchasing agent for the Midland Ross, Unitcast Division before his retirement in 1986. Joe was a member of Arthur Daly American Legion Post, the Disabled American Veterans and St. Mark Lutheran Church. For many years he coached local men's softball teams and won many city titles. He was an avid Detroit Tiger and Lions fan and was a season ticket holder to the Michigan Wolverine football games.
Surviving are his wife, Joan; son, Chris (Sharon) Golightley; daughters, Countess (Ron) Lemire and Tracy Saull; grandchildren, Kristen Golightley, Brett Golightley, Brittney Saull and Chase Saull; special friends, Joyce and Marion Fouty, Elaine Willis.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio on Sunday from 2-9 p.m. American Legion services will be Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with interment following in Restlawn Memorial Park. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Joe's memory are asked to consider St. Mark Lutheran Church.
