Joseph C. Magdich, 93, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, OH. Joseph was born on February 25, 1923 in Antwerp, Ohio to Kalman and Mary (Dombi) Magdich. He was a graduate of Antwerp High School and the Indiana Institute of Technology and worked as a mechanical engineer with Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical for 30 years retiring in 1982. Joseph was a member of St. Ignatius Church and V.F.W. in Delaware, Ohio. He served in the US Army with the 233rd AAA Searchlight Battalion as a staff sergeant during WWII in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater.
Surviving are his children, Joseph P. (Joan) of Fairfield, OH, Illona (Danny) Broyles of Reynoldsburg, OH: Jean (John) Uhl of Logan, OH; Mitchell (Susan) of Toledo, OH and Paul (Lynn) of Oregon, OH; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Juanita; son, Michael C. Magdich and brothers, Kalman, Frank and George.
Friends and family may visit Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon, Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. Oregon, Ohio 43616 on Monday, February 13, 2017 from 2-8 pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 1 pm. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Joseph's name may be directed to the Toledo Museum of Art.
