Joseph F. Molnar, Jr., 80, of Oregon, passed away on October 31, 2016. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 5, 1936 to Joseph Sr. and Irene (Sofalvi) Molnar. Joe proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and went on to work for AP Parts as an electrician, retiring in 1989 after 34 years. Joe was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree and St. Stephen's Catholic Church, where he volunteered many hours troubleshooting and fixing electrical issues and served as the President of Parish Council. He was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, fishing Up North and watching his favorite team, Notre Dame.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary; daughters, Melissa Hammack, Karen (Robert) Hussey, Kelly (Michael) Rafko; grandchildren, Stephen, Jacob, Michael, Robby; brother, Alex; sister, Elizabeth; step-siblings, Galen , Cathy (Eric) and Gilbert; nephews, Tommy, David, Gilbert; nieces, Ann, Debbie, Barbara. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marcy and Shirley; step-sister, Barb.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Epiphany of the Lord Parish – St. Stephens Church, 2018 Consaul St., Toledo on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. where family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Joe's name are asked to consider the Diabetes Association or the Disabled Veteran's Association. Joe's family would like to extend their thanks to the nurses and staff at St. Vincent Cardiac ICU for the loving care provided to Joe.
