Joseph E. Moon Sr., 68, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Promedica Bay Park Hospital. Joe was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 24, 1944 to Earl and Elizabeth (Kuzma) Moon. Joe was a 1963 graduate of Waite High School and Davis Business College. He served his country in the US Army during Vietnam. For 35 years, Joe was employed with Libbey Owens Ford, retiring in 1999. Joe enjoyed playing cards, horseshoes, and college football. Joe enjoyed working in his yard and was a collector of lawnmowers. His true passion was spending time with his family. Joe is survived by his children; Joseph (Gina) Moon Jr., Thomas Moon, and their mother, Karen Fern; grandchildren, Joey, Michael, Tommy, Crystal, and Jacob; great granddaughter, Juliana; brothers, Bob (Sandy) Moon and Floyd (Kelly) Moon; longtime girlfriend, Therese Gower, and faithful dog, Jenny. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Thomas Moon and Julianne Kennedy-Porch. Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 2:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with interment to follow at Willow Cemetery.
