Joseph Novak, 85, of Oregon, Ohio passed away July 15, 2011. He was born in East Moreland County, PA to Andrew and Anna Novak on August 1, 1925. Joe served in the Merchant Marines during World War II, and had been employed at LOF for 41 years as a plant maintenance supervisor prior to retirement. He was a member of Calvin United Church of Christ and the Masons - Port Lawrence Lodge. His passions were camping, traveling, especially to Myrtle Beach in their motor home, bowling, listening to music and tinkering in the pole barn. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Susan; children, Bruce, Marjorie (David) Garey, David, Judith, and Susan (James) Cordell; grandchildren, Cameron (Michelle) Novak, Jereme Novak, Lon (Georgia) Burling, Rhonda (Tim) Bellville, Jason (Michelle) Garey, Andrew Garey, Taylor Garey, Shannon (Patrick) Courtney, Nathen (Juanita) Novak, Jacklyn Givens, James (Heather) Cordell and Trisha Cordell; 21 great grandchildren; brother, Steven; sisters, Betty Wheeler and MaryAnn Anderson; brother-in-law, Lou Gordon. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Andrew, Julius and Robert; sister, Marjorie Gordon; daughter-in-law, Donna Novak. Friends may call at Calvin United Church of Christ, 1946 Bakewell Street on Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 10:00 am until time of memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Imre Bertalan officiating.
