Joseph Pinketure Jr., 67, of east Toledo passed away October 22, 2007 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born in Toledo on September 16, 1940 to Joseph and Rose (Bogacki) Pinketure. Joe was a life long member of Good Shepherd Church and a graduate of Waite High School, where he played baseball. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Joe started his career as a stock boy for McCorkels Market and then moved up to meat cutter. He also worked for the Centre Supermarket and National Foods before owning his own store on Oakdale, which he owned for 22 years. Joe also had his own fixture hanging business and worked for many builders and lighting stores. He was a member of the GBU, Swiss Society, and the Friday Night Gang at the GAF Clubhouse. Joe golfed with the "Waite Has Beens" and the Swiss Golf League. He was an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox.
Surviving is his loving wife of 44 years, Nancy (Bueschen), brother-in-law, William Bueschen, and many nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. Oregon, Ohio on Friday, October 26, 2007 from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Saturday at 9:15 and proceed to Good Shepherd Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the charity of the donors choice.
