Joseph Sofalvi, 95, of Oregon, Ohio passed away November 8, 2012 at Orchard Villa. He was born in Lorain, Ohio on March 29, 1917 to Alexander and Anna (Olah) Sofalvi. Joe was employed in the shipping department at the Devilbiss Company, retiring in 1982. Prior to that, he was employed as a machinist at the old Chevrolet plant.Joseph was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, nature, gardening, playing cards and family get-togethers. Joe was very proud of his GED he received from the University of Toledo at the age of 37. Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Matilda (Tillie); nephew, John K. (Beth) Sofalvi and numerous great nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Alex and John (Betty); sisters, Dorothy Sofalvi, Irene Molnar and Anna Sofalvi; niece Beverly Angel. Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Tuesday, November 13 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Joe'™s family would like to thank Orchard Villa and Pastor Mary Wood for all of their support and care.
