Joyce M. "Cookie" Ostroski, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 24, 1940 to Joseph and Myrtle (Buno) Bires. She was a graduate of Waite High School and worked for many years at the Toledo Blade and the Lion Store. Joyce dedicated her life to caring for others and sharing her skills in the kitchen with everyone she met. Her true passion was spending time with her children and grandchildren who brought her much joy. "Cookie never sugar coated anything" Joyce is survived by her children, Jodee (Clark G.) Dantzer, Jeffrey ( Theresa) Dantzer, Joseph (Jamie ) Dantzer, Todd Ostroski, Judee Hodgson, Alia nÉe Reda ( Ryan) Wolaver, and Amena nÉe Reda ( Brian) Flanagan; 16 grandchildren, along with many great – grandchildren. Joyce is also survived by many loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry Ostroski; grandson, Michael; dear friend, Mladen Gutalj; along with her 5 siblings. Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon, Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 12:00 pm until time of funeral service at 7:00 pm. All family and friends are welcome at 7:00 p.m. to come and celebrate her life.
