Juanita Maldonado, 95, of Oregon, Ohio passed away December 28, 2017 at Hospice in Perrysburg. Juanita was born on December 5, 1922 in Redwood Texas to Juan and Amelia (Rivas) Martinez. She worked in the Mercy Healthcare System for many years before retiring in 1984. She enjoyed bingo, gambling, wrestling, sewing and crochet. Juanita loved kids and cared for everyone before herself. She was a devoted Catholic her whole life.
Surviving are her children, Estella Briceno, Gloria (Pascual) Hernandez and Olivia (David) Kimbrell; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; 8 siblings; and companion Francisco Villagomez. She was preceded in death by her husband, Justo Maldonado Sr.; parents; children, Tony Isabel and Justo Jr.; and 11 siblings.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Monday, January 8, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Rosary services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at Epiphany of the Lord – Sacred Heart Parish, 509 Oswald St., Toledo at 11:00 a.m. and where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Juanita's name are asked to consider the family, in care of Olivia Kimbrell, to help with funeral expenses.
