Obituary

Judith Ann Farris, 69, of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born December 22, 1940 to Paul and Minnie (Bouldin) Morgan. She was a 1959 graduate of Waite High School and worked briefly after graduation until her marriage to Richard Farris on Feb. 25, 1961. During the 60's she was a member of the Toledo Council PTA Board of Directors and in the 70's was an enthusiastic member of the Waite High Band Boosters. She had been stricken by Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of five which became active again during the 80's. Judy recounted her life and spiritual journey with God in her autobiography "Judy's Song", published in 1992. She was a member of Women's Aglow Fellowship and spoke to numerous Christian groups to show how faith can lead you through your struggles. Judy was a majority member of the Rainbow Girls and was a 50 year member of Yondota Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. Her home was always open and she was "mom" to all the neighborhood kids over the past 50 years. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jack of N. Carolina. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard; children, Valerie Davis, Oregon, Margaret Miller, Erie, MI; grandchildren, Adam and Aaron Cashen, Angela, Julie and Christina Miller; great grandchildren, Michael and Morgan; sister, Alice Tatur, Bellaire, MI; brothers, Don(Betty),MI, Herman "Bud" (Della) Morgan, Toledo; sister-in-law, Ida Morgan, N.C.; special friends, Tom Miller, Bob and Dorothy Jones and many nieces and nephews. Judy loved all her friends in Masonic circles, especially Margaret Wuwert, Lois Silvieus, Judy Campbell, Norma Dickson. Visitation will be Sunday, Jan 24, from 1-4 and 6-8 at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road with Yondota OES services at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, January 25, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with interment following in Lake Township Cemetery. In her memory, memorials may be made to Yondota Chapter OES or the Scottish Rite Learning Center. The family wishes to thank Judy's doctors, the doctors and staff at St. Charles Hospital, and all those who attended to her at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Visitation: Sunday, 1:00 - 4:00 & 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Yondota OES Services at 7:00 p.m. Services: Monday, 11:00 a.m. Interment: Lake Township Cemetery
