Judy Ann Schimming, 75, of Curtice, Ohio passed away on December 16, 2018 at St. Charles Mercy Hospital in Oregon, Ohio. Having bravely dealt with Multiple Sclerosis for over 25 years, she succumbed after contracting a severe infection. The second of three girls, Judy was born March, 27, 1943 to Thomas and Estella Graf. After meeting and marrying Ronald E. Schimming, she moved to Ohio. A lifelong Registered Nurse, Judy spent the majority of her career at the Luther Home of Mercy in Williston, Ohio. She retired from LHM in August of 2006 after 32 dedicated years of service. Not letting her MS slow her down, she could be seen buzzing all over campus in her scooter. She loved her work there and created special bonds with many of the residents over the years. She enjoyed the simple things in life, such as spending time with family, fishing, her pets and vacationing in Northern Michigan. Perhaps the favorite image her children recall is Judy perched on her spot on the bow of the fishing boat with her pole balanced between her toes. Despite her illness she remained positive to the end, even when all dignity and independence had been taken from her. Her devoted husband and sons cared for her when she could no longer care for herself. She is survived by her husband Ronald, her sisters Christine and Susan, her children William, Wendy and Matthew (Lacy) and her dear grandchildren, Payton, Parker and Cooper. She was preceded in death by her parents. In accordance to Judy's wishes services will remain private. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Judy's name are asked to consider the Allen Clay Joint Fire District Station 1 or St. John Lutheran Church, Williston.
