Julia H. Stevens, 96, passed away September 18, 2011 in Ridgewood Manor, Maumee. She was born in Filbert, W. Virginia to Joseph and Barbara (Varkoly) Churko. Julia was a member of St. Stephen'™s Catholic Church, its Rosary Altar Society, and a member of the VFW Post #4906 Ladies Auxiliary. She had been employed at Toledo Building Services in maintenance for 18 years, retiring in 1981. Julia was preceded in death by her parents; son, Thomas; sisters, Anna Junga and Rose Danko; brothers, Joseph, Frank, Steve and Louis Cherko. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Stephens Catholic Church on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends in church one hour prior to Mass from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions be made to St. Stephen'™s Church or the charity of the donor'™s choice.
