Julian C. Zapata, 51, of Genoa, Ohio passed away on Friday, April 9, 2010 in his home surrounded by his family. Julian was born in Oregon, Ohio on June 5, 1958 to Julian P. and Ninfa (Castilleja) Zapata. He was a graduate of Genoa High School and was employed for 27 years as a body and sheet metal specialist for Chrysler Jeep. Julian loved working on cars and spent endless hours in his garage enjoying his 1964 Chevy Impala. But his true love was his family, especially his grandchildren
Surviving are his loving wife, Maria; son, Julian (Monica) Zapata III; daughters, Sarah (Arturo) and Amy Zapata; brother, Michael (Dalila) Zapata; sisters, Helen Zapata, Mary Estrada, Virginia Kelley; grandchildren, Claudia, Dominic and Haleigh. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Irene Benavides.
Friends may call in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road where visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral services will begin n the funeral home on Monday at 9:45 am and proceed to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for the Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Clay Township Cemetery. The Zapata family would like to thank their family and friends for their love and support during Julians'™s illness.
