Julie A. King, 48, passed away on December 31, 2014 at Promedica Bay Park Community Hospital. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 20, 1966 to Gerald and Doris (DeSelms) Apthorpe. Julie graduated from Waite High School. Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren, large family and many friends. She always looked at life positively with a smile on her face, an open heart and open door. Julie also enjoyed bargain shopping and a good pair of shoes. She was past president of East Side Central PTO and most recently involved with Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Surviving are her husband of 26 years, Steven M. King; children, Steven W., Kellsie A. (Zachary) and Bryce M. (Megan) King; grandchildren, Steven R. King, Kaiden and Kali Zam. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gerald Apthorpe and sister, Joanne Heuring.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Monday, January 5, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday January 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with interment to follow in Lake Township Cemetery.
