Julius E. Pompos, 84, of Northwood, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 28, 2018 in his residence surrounded by his loving family. Julius was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 28, 1933 to Julius S. and Anna Puskas Pompos. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S Navy and the Navy Reserves. Julius had worked for New Mather Lab as a Lab Tech for 43 years prior to his retirement.
Having a love for the water and a love for woodworking, he built his own boat, which the family had many good times on. A soft spoken man full of knowledge loved his family deeply.
Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Martha; sons, Jeffrey & Daniel; daughter,
Laura (Trent) Schroeder; grandchildren, Andre (Steve) Barta, Christy Hinz, Heather (Josh) Soto, Courtney Pompos, Kirsti (Ben) Woodral, Kerrie, Austin, Adam, Autumn Schroeder; sisters, Arlene Mankowski, Virginia Silver, Jeanette Tolbert; brothers, Steve & Robert Pompos. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Julius was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 2-8 pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to be distributed to Julius's favorite organizations. Julius family would like to thank, Gloria Resnedez, Mia Day and all others who have helped them with Julius during his illness.
